Tianzi Mountains

Tianzi Mountain is breath taking and served as the inspiration to the floating mountains and environment featured in Avatar.[1]

Named after Xiang Dakun, a man who led farmers on a successful revolt and called himself “Tianzi,” which literally means, “Son of Heaven,” the Tianzi Mountain reaches as tall as 4,142 ft. or .78 miles at its highest peak (Kunlun Peak) and stretches as far as 25 square miles.

The mountain was carved over 380,000,000 years ago (which means I have no idea when exactly it was created) and is located in the northeastern part of Zhangijajie City.

Rock climbers come forth! It is said, “people who have climbed Tianzi Mountain will not climb any other mountains,” due to their unique and natural beauty.
